A while back we were discussing old Xerox protocols and the desire for manuals.  I don't recall exactly which specifications were desired, but over the weekend my wife came across a small trove of old Xerox specifications she had.  We don't have any need for them, but if others are interested, I am happy to make them available.

Here's what we have:

 - The Ethernet, A Local Area Network, Data Link Layer and Physical Layer Specifications; Digital, Intel and Xerox; Version 1.0 September 30, 1980
 - Introduction to Xerox Network Systems, XNSG 058504,  Xerox, April 1985
 - Xerox Network Systems Architecture, General Information Manual, XNSG 068504, Xerox, April 1985
 - Internet Transport Protocols, XSIS 028118,Xerox, December 1981
 - Time Protocol, XSIS 088404, Xerox, April 1984
 - Courier: The Remote Procedure Call Protocol, XSIS 038112, December 1981
 - Authentication Protocol, XSIS 09804, Xerox, April 1984
 - Synchronous Point-to-Point Protocol, XNS Standard 158412,  Xerox, December 1984
 - Clearinghouse Protocol, XSIS 078404, April 1984
 - Clearinghouse Entry Formats, XSIS 168404, Xerox, April 1984.

 - Print Service Integration Protocol, XNS Standard 198506, Xerox, June 1985
 - Character Code Standard, XSIS 058404, Xerox, April 1984
 - Printing Protocol, XSIS 118404, Xerox, April 1984
 - Introduction to Interpress, XSIG 038404, Robert Sproull, Brian Reid, April 1984
 - Interpress - Electronic Printing Standard, XSIS 048404, Xerox, April 1984
 - Interpress 82 Reader's Guide, XSIG 018404, Jerry Mendelson, April 1984

 - Laurel Manual, Douglas K. Brotz, May 1981

Let me know if you're interested and we can arrange to get them to you.

For what it's worth, many of these are available in scanned form at bitsavers.org — see below. But the ones marked with ***** don’t seem to be there — it would be great if you could offer scans to Al Kossow a...@bitsavers.org .

If we ever have a chance to re-scan the Character Code Standard, it would be great to do it at much higher resolution.  The scanned copies floating around now seem to have been done at 100-150 dpi, and it makes a lot of the fine details harder to read than they should be.

We should try not to make that mistake with any new things we scan.

I won’t be able to attend tomorrows meeting but I do have a 600 dpi scanner and can re-scan things if needed.
