I’ve been busy over the past couple days preparing to update our website to the latest versions of Docsy and Hugo. I believe most the major work is done.

Before merging the updates into main, I plan to spend some time ensuring everything works correctly and rewriting the README.md file to bring it up to date.

The work is at a point, that more eyes on it would be useful to ensure that I haven’t missed something.

I have the latest build of the website up and running on the staging site.

You will notice a couple changes, Docsy now supports dark mode, I currently have it enabled, you can switch between dark and light modes. There is an icon for that at the far right of the navigation bar. We can disable this if we choose.

There are some changes from what you will see on the production site, Interlisp.org,

  • We had disabled the ‘View Page Source’, ‘Edit this Page’ and other authoring options that currently show up in the right side bar on the Interlisp.org site, somewhere along the line they crept back in. They are once again removed.

  • The behavior of the navbar on the home page has changed. One of my goals was to remove as much custom code as possible. For the Navbar, I was able to leverage css and some newer Docsy behavior. When the size of the page shrinks and the search bar would be hidden, instead of dropping to a second page, it stays and the dropdown options to its left become scrollable. Docsy by default does the scrollbars, but drops the searchbar. If we don’t like this, we can revert back to the hold functionality. It’s copying a lot of code and adding in some changes.

I don’t think there are any other differences. If you find something let me know. I would like to make sure I haven’t missed something before we update our production site.

The updated site looks nice, text and images look sharper and generally better. I've reported a few minor issues in the PR but also note that the link to the staging site is broken, the correct one is https://stumbo.github.io/InterlispDraft.github.io
