Those machines were, um, pretty spacious. Did they require special power outlets?

I showed these to John Viittal, this was his response: "We’re all such babies. Even JSB has dark (I.e. no gray) hair. Now, it would be fun to try to name everyone in the pictures. Memories.”

In addition to the usual suspects I recognized John Sybalsky and JonL White.

In later years AAAI would distribute the Lisp vendors around a bit more.

Clearly this was NOT the 1992 AAAI (as per the folder name), as that was well after the launch.
Was it at AAAI 1982 in Pittsburgh? (I.e., typo in folder name.)
That was my first AAAI conference, and where I got the information needed to convince Beckman Instruments management to get our 1108.

I renamed the directory (again) to "1982 AAAI RRB" (used to be 1992) and added another folder ("1982 AAAI poster")  of scans of 1982 photos that I had previously posted to (my personal) Google Photos.
I think there are some links from the Interlisp.org web site (or at least there used to be).

that I had originally posted on my personal google drive several years ago....  I thought they

What I find interesting in these pictures is that it looks like people we doing “real work” at the machines. In later years we used the AAAI-DEMO sysout which was much more a canned experience, and we’d break out from the script if someone asked specific questions.

Nope.  The issue with them wasn't so much the power as the heat and
noise they emitted.  I finally got a willing tech to move mine into a
large lab across the hall leaving only the monitors, keyboard and mouse
in my office.  The cable was 50 feet long. Worked fine.

Hah, is that a young Larry in the file named Series_013? I might stick that in the slides for my talk tomorrow...

I believe Lynn Conway is in #024. And Steve Purcell in #009.
