I am pleased to report that thanks to all the help extended by Josh Dersch, my D0 is now running again.  It took some doing but we got it to boot the net from Ken Shiriff's Beaglebone IFS emulator.  From there I was able to run scavenger which found two sector-late hard read errors on cylinders 0 and 2.  It corrected them and then I was able to do a Bootfrom which brought up the Alto OS.  And from there I just typed Lisp.run and that's all she wrote.

I'm now going to see if I can't get the color board running again too.  Isn't this cool?
