The TOSHIBA System Settings program released with pre-installed Windows 8 is a tool that allows you to configure your computer - similar to TOSHIBA HWSetup on earlier models. Computers upgraded to Windows 8 from an earlier version use HWSetup.

If this utility or feature is not installed on your computer, you can verify if it is available for your specific model under "Downloads" on the TOSHIBA support web site (support.toshiba.com). Not all utilities are available for every model and operating system. When installing any utilities, install the TOSHIBA Value Added Package first is applicable.

What we tend to install for customers with 30- 100 extensions is the Adtran NetVanta 7100 which supports 100 users with no subscriptions costs. Supporting 18 analog extensions will probably involve using an ATA or integrated access device (IAD) that will SIP to the PBX.

If you need UC features and things like call recording, graphical and switchboards for users I like Switchvox a lot. Switchvox is a subscription based system however, so you need a subscription per phone extension.

We had a Toshiba CTX670 (is this what you are running now?) that we had moved from out of state when we moved our company some 5 years back. Last year ee moved to an Allworx. It has all the features we need and then some. Easy to admin. Local vendor was great to work with and is right up the street if I need any major help. Might be worth a look. We have a PRI handoff and SIP trunk to it.

We also had a CTX100 in a box from when we closed a branch. We donated it, plus some cards from the 670 and phones to a non-profit. A local guy I found that knows the Toshiba helped them install it. Toshiba is used widely in Lowes and Barnes and Noble stores. Probably the only reason it is still around as a phone system. I would move away from the Toshiba if you can.

we have installed loads of Gigaset Ip dect on the system and all works ok. I heard they are closing in the USA and Canada so your challenge would be if you have enough endpoint licenses on the system. The cix also is a fully resourced type system i.e. the systems will use 16 or 24 port IP cards so you can only have a max of 16 or 24 devices subscribe to this card. I would look at changing out the system here in the UK we offered all our customer cash back on their Toshiba handset if they purchased a new system from us.

For complete access to your dial plan like paging et al. , then your tie-line context will need to be from-internal , incoming calls from the pstn should probably use from-did-direct to facilitate the one-to-one mapping of extensions between systems.

If the link is up then the wiring is fine, just check for any clock slips or framing errors in any hardware diagnostics available, Debugging the sip sessions and the ensuing sdp traffic would be my next step as to missing media.

Trying to map the post to match my Adtran config, I see it going to a custom context of vm_from_toshiba. Looks like the setup example was going to a T1 card in the server. My guess is I need to do some tweaking on the Adtran or see about using that custom context. Currently, I just have the Adtran direct it straight to the FreePBX and I use the from_internal context.

I am sorry for the confusion. I have dropped the attempt to connect FPBX to CIX-670 when I found that you have to have a Strata SIP trunk license for each concurrent conversation between the FPBX and CIX. SIP trunk license are to expensive. The FPBX to CIX project has been put on hold due to the company decided to purchase more Strata IP phones and licenses.
Thank you,
Jack

For licensing, if you go with SIP trunks, it does require you to purchase SIP trunk channels. If you go with PRI, it hit against my StrataNet licensing, which I bought an unlimited licenses for my CIX.

For the benefit of the rest of the world I will be posting details bot here and in the Digium forums of how I got it working and what settings I ticked and un-ticked to get it working. Ultimately it is just a minor variation on the settings you posted in your detailed post. If I were to summarize - Toshiba needs an AUTH whereas Switchvox does not.

On March 21, 2017, all Toshiba dealers, including Universal ComOne/ LineOne, received letters announcing the "wind-down of the Telecommunications System Division (TSD)." This event left Universal ComOne/ LineOne and dealers across the country with limited-to-no future support from Toshiba. At the time of this event, it was the start of many failures of legacy on-premise telephone systems other than just Toshiba.

On January 1, 2021, one of the largest Toshiba Dealers, Universal ComOne, officially merged with LineOne. LineOne has retained all management, and Toshiba certified technical staff who have supported Toshiba small business phone systems for decades. The LineOne Toshiba Support Team still has a passion for managing and supporting the legacy Toshiba Telephone Systems. We are still supporting Toshiba Strata DK, Strata CTX, Strata CIX, and the Toshiba IPledge.

That depends on many factors. Some parts are easy to obtain, and others have software restrictions that make them difficult to replace. Most Toshiba phones can be replaced easily. We have helped many customers gain more life out of their Toshiba business phone system. We will be straightforward and honest when the cost of supporting an aging Toshiba phone system is no longer viable. Let us evaluate your Toshiba system's current status and give you all your options to make the right decision for your business. Please call us at (337) 345-4008 and talk to one of our LineOne Toshiba factory-certified technicians.

All good things will come to an end. Most Toshiba phone system customers retain their Toshiba system well beyond the life of the system. When looking at premise-based phone systems, many reliable phone systems are at the end of life and no longer supported by the manufacture. This end-of-life issue is not isolated to just Toshiba. Brands like Nortel, NEC, Panasonic, Iwatsu are also no longer have strong support. From our long history with the Toshiba product, we have determined a premise-based phone system's average life is (10) ten years. We are currently supporting Toshiba systems beyond the average life of (10) ten years, but this comes with a risk of failure beyond the ability to repair. The most vulnerable components are the CPU and the voicemail system. Each time there is a high cost to repair, we advise the customer what path is best suited for their situation. We help our customers determine when it is no longer advantageous to keep investing in a phone system that is well beyond its end-of-life.

All the above costs should be considered in deciding if you keep your Toshiba telephone system active or if it is time to upgrade. If you choose to upgrade your Toshiba system, please contact us at (337) 345-4008 about the LineOne phone system. We have a proven transition plan from your Toshiba phone system to the LineOne phone system.
