Couple commits suicide: A couple allegedly committed suicide by hanging themselves at their house in Mehal Khurd village in Barnala district on Saturday. Another extension for staff: Aiming to defer the payment of retirement dues by another year, the Punjab Government on Saturday allowed one-year additional extension in service to its employees. The government had earlier extended the retirement age from 58 to 59 years and it has now extended it to 60 years. With this, the state's payment of retirement dues worth Rs 1,000 crore will be deferred by a year.
