Key Responsibilities
• Responsible for the planning, project management, coordination and implementation of library services at NYUAD in conjunction with NYU-NY counterparts, including the full range of collection development, technical services, public services, front end academic technology support services, library IT and digital library services, and facilities programs.
• Participate in NYUAD campus and program planning and ongoing program development.
• Develop and coordinate information and research services for NYU faculty participating in the NYUAD Institute.
• Recruit, develop and manage an outstanding library faculty and staff, and provide direction for the continuing recruitment, selection, orientation, development, training and retention of library staff.

Qualifications
• ALA-accredited MLS or ALA-recognized international equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years successful administrative and supervisory experience in a demanding academic library setting.
• Knowledge of developments in higher education that affect research libraries, scholarly process, and the University’s core mission in teaching, learning and research.
• Experience working a culturally diverse environment.
• Second masters degree in a subject area relevant to the NYUAD academic program.
• College or university library start-up, renovation or construction experience a plus.
• Prior international experience would be highly valued.

Reporting Relationship
The Director of NYUAD Library will be located in Abu Dhabi and will report jointly to the Dean, Division of Libraries at NYU and the Vice Chancellor for NYUAD.
