About the IATLIS

The Indian Association of Teachers of Library and Information Science (IATLIS) is a professional association of more than 600 teachers and professionals in Library and Information Science in India.  Since its inception in 1969, IATLIS has been active in taking up several issues of LIS Education in India especially relating to the development of curriculum, teaching methods, infrastructure, teacher training, etc. It actively works for the promotion of the professional interests of LIS teachers. As part of its activities, it conducts national seminars and webinars, workshops, and training programmes. About Udaipur

The city of lakes, Udaipur is a beautiful city situated in the lap of Aravalli Range of Rajasthan, India. Udaipur is regarded as one of the most romantic cities of the world and subsequently, also known as the “Venice of East”. Udaipur has been capital of Mewar of centuries. It is the land of lake side scenic sights, hilltop fortesses, and luxuriant gardens with fountains. The surrounding Udaipur has many attractions such as world famous Jaisamand lake (50K.M.), Kumbhalgarh Fort (85K.M.), Ranakpur Jain Temple (90K.M.), Nathdwara (48K.M.), Chittorgarh (105K.M.). The climate of Udaipur is very pleasant in the month of December. 
How to reach Udaipur: By Air – The nearest airport is Maharana Pratap Airport, which is around 14 km. from the venue. 
By Train – The Ranapratap Railway station is around 2 km away from the venue and city station is 7km.
By Road – The Udaipur can also be reached by road. The best service is by private transportation which ply buses from Jaipur, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Ajmer, Gandhinagar, etc. 

About the University

Mohanlal Sukhadia University at Udaipur, Rajasthan (India) is A grade UGC recognized multi-faculty affiliating state university established by an Act in the year 1962 to cater the needs of higher education in Southern Rajasthan. The University has 36 departments under four constituent colleges. The university has more than 193 affiliated colleges with an enrollment of about 2.25 lakh students. As a mark of respect in the memory of late Sri Mohanlal Sukhadia the architect of modern Rajasthan, the university was renamed as Mohanlal Sukhadia University in 1984.

 

About the DLIS

The Department of Library and Information Science was started in the year 1975 as a separate department in the University College of Social Science & Humanities. In the year 1994 the department was upgraded to a PG department as Master in LIS course was started as a regular one year programme. Subsequently in the session 1999, the facilities of Ph.D programme were initiated and considered as second full-fledges department having facility of UG, PG & Ph.D in the Rajasthan State. This department is first in the whole state of Rajasthan by which all the courses of LIS from Certificate to Ph.D are being run.

 

Call for Papers

Proposals are invited from IATLIS members, LIS teachers, researchers, practitioners, and students on the following theme and sub-themes of the conference. Those interested to submit their papers are required to submit a one-page (250 to 500 words) abstract as an MS-Word mail attachment, and latest by 31October 2022 to iatlisconf...@gmail.com

These sub-themes are indicative, and papers on other sub-themes related to the conference theme are also welcome.

The registration fee covers conference kit, proceedings of the conference (upon post-publication), and working lunch, and session tea for the conference days. The registration fee does not include breakfast, dinner and accommodation. A limited accommodation is available in the university guest house/hostel. Accommodation and food (Breakfast and Dinner), if required, will be arranged at additional cost on first come first served basis.

Papers presented at the conference will be published in the post-conference volume that would be sent to the registered delegates later on, as per the decision of the General Body. Delegates are requested to include registration fees for accompanying persons while forwarding their registration forms since it would not be possible to entertain last minute requests for accommodation. Accompanying persons shall not been titled for conference kits. Delegates are requested to intimate their travel plans in advance to avoid last minute inconvenience. The Demand Draft/ Multicity cheque for registration fee should be in favour of IATLIS payable at Patiala, and should be sent along with the duly filled in Registration Form latest by 21 November 2022. Delegates can also transfer the registration fee online in account no. 65048083922 of State Bank of

India, Punjabi University, Patiala branch (IFSC Code: SBIN0050009). The account is in the name of Indian Association of Teachers of Library and Information Science (IATLIS). In case of online transfer, the proof of transfer should be sent with the registration form.
