Late notice! I will be teaching at the Center for Yoga this weekend, on Friday and Sunday. The sessions are part of a teacher training program that includes open-to-the-public workshops.
I hope to see a few of you here! I will still be teaching my regular weekly zoom classes.
Friday: 1:30 - 3:30 Throughout life our bodies are constantly changing; on skeletal and systemic levels, we are susceptible to outside forces as well as internal emotional and physical influences.
Using Western and yogic perspectives on life cycles, we will practice the same sequence modified for youth, fitness in middle years, adaptations for menopause and aging well. We do not need different sequences, rather to understand how to adapt an asana for various circumstances. This workshop is helpful for teachers of all kinds of yoga.
Sunday: Refresh, Restore, Renew
We live in a super-charged world where distraction and speed reign. We all feel it. Essential to our health and well-being are having tools that will help us harness our inner life and feel how we can settle down, settle in, and find peace through inner stability. Restorative yoga helps bring balance to the nervous system, identify and release chronic holding patterns, enhance the relaxation response, ease insomnia, and improve breathing. We will practice a combination of gentle movement, inversions and supported asanas.
