Join me for an exploration into the HEART of a Pranayama practice in the Iyengar method. Deeper then breath control, wider then mindfulness, softer than a feather, and more potent then power.

The next breath, this breath, welcome it, open to it, it is royalty visiting your temple. Yes it carries oxygen to every cell in your body. and it carries qualities of light, love, harmony, generosity, gratitude, honesty WHEN we are willing and able to receive it with an tenderly.
This asks of us to sweep clear physical restlessness, for that disturbs the heart. This asks us to wipe away mental cobwebs of conditioned expectations, born of need, fear, clinging and grasping. This asks us to show up, settle down, and settle in; to WAIT, watch and witness the miracle of the next moment.
Pranayama is not breath control, it is not box breathing, or diaphragmatic vs belly breathing, it is not to help you sleep..
Hafiz, ecstatic poet said it well:
Even after all this time
The sun never says to the earth
"You owe me."
Look what happens with a love like that
It lights the whole sky.
Prana is like that, the light that radiates, animates, caresses, but we have to be ready.. Join me!
