December 14 has always been a special day, as practitioners of Iyengar Yoga worldwide celebrate Guruji's birthday. Yoga ANushasanam, a convention held annually in Pune, began as a tribute to the teachings, and then the man behind Iyengar yoga. The first such massive undertaking that I attended was in 1998, it was Guruji's 80th bday.
This Friday I will showcase over zoom the presentation that I initially created for a class I taught at Loyola Marymount University called, Iyengar, Philosopher, Poet, Teacher, Healer. The last time I shared it was in Rishikesh, in northern India, in 2012. I have updated the material to include Geeta, Prashant and Abhijata Iyengar.
FUNDRAISER for the Iyengar Yoga Institute of Los Angeles. This was my home away from home for 8 years, before Covid. In 2020 the Institute, along with many other yoga studios, had to close its physical doors and reimagine itself as a virtual school. In 2025 the Institute Board found a new home, in Culver City.
Please join me in supporting the Institute and enjoy the presentation...
