This Sunday I will begin a four weekend course at LMU, online, that introduces the principles of Iyengar Yoga to students in the LMU Yogic Studies 200 hour teacher training course. This Sunday, a short powerpoint to illustrate the foundation: why precision, timings, inversions, pranayama, Patanjali yoga are all elemental in Iyengar Yoga. Registration info at bottom of message..
4 Sundays (no class May 7) 10:30 - 1:00
The first weekend I will focus on standing poses,
Second weekend Forward extensions and twists
Third weekend Inversions and Backward extensions
Final weekend restoratives and pranayama
This is the sequence of presentation when students travel to Pune.
In the final weekend I will share a longer presentation of Guruji's life, the growth of the international associations, his legacy, and where we are heading now. I last gave this presentation in Rishikesh on the banks of the Ganges.
Sorry for the short notice, I am stepping in for someone who could not do it.
It is online and $208 for the series, a little pricey, but it is LMU!

Recognized as one of Time Magazine's 100 most influential people of the year in 2004 and author of over a dozen acclaimed books on yoga, Shree BKS Iyengar is largely responsible for the renaissance of Yoga in the West. This course will review his biographical roots, philosophical perspective, and the practical principles behind the application of what is known as Iyengar Yoga.
