Skype and Skype for Business have several things in common, but they are not exactly the same. These applications can differ in which features are available. Here is a summary of some of the key differences.
I regularly have Opera, Firefox, and Chrome running at the same time, but I have checked extensions to verify that no Skype holdout extensions exist. I have combed the registry and the sound setting to eliminate any notification using the incoming skype ringtone sound. No help yet.
Can someone tell me how to stop this random unsolicited attempt to call me through my PC, how to disable the ringing and the calls. Thanks in advance for your support
I have meetings on the calendar throughout the day listed in my Outlook calendar and they always have Skype link in them to join the virtual meeting. I lose time by having to stop, open the meeting invite, and click the link ahead of time. Also, sometimes I'm busy and forget to join, after dismissing the meeting reminder.
Is there a way to have it just automatically log me into the Skype meeting when it's time for the meeting? This would allow me to keep working until I actually hear people in the meeting talking, and it would keep me from forgetting to sign into a meeting on time.
I am on my second year of Microsoft 365 Family; expires in July 2023. On their website it says the following, "60 minutes of free Skype calls to mobiles and landlines every month". I have used this feature in the past to call a landline, but now Skype doesn't seem to recognize that I have a 365 subscription. I have tried using the dedicated Skype app and accessing Skype via my browser after logging into my Microsoft 365 account, but they both don't show the 60 free minutes. Anyone else having the same problem?
It would appear as though it is unable to query their availability until it is manually loaded into cache(?) from my client. Any idea why this would possibly happen or how I can have it return the proper results without manually searching for the user first?
We also have Skype for Business as our primary uc- and telephony-platform. We use Skype4B within Citrix with the HDX RTME/RTMC offloading method. Offloading works fine. (Latest versions RTMC 2.9 and RTME 2.9.100)
The issue we have is that in the scenario where someone uses Teams locally (on Win10) and has a Citrix Published Desktop active with Skype and offloading active, Skype/HDX-RTME and Teams seem to battle over the HID-controls.
So when not in any call, and USB-Headset attached, and starting a Teams call locally; you instantly get a dialtone (which presumably comes from Skype "picking up the phone") that continues for 30 seconds and then you hear a howler and then get disconnected. But that happens while you're having a succesful Teams meeting. So in that scenario people just have to quit Skype in Citrix, then there's no issue.
I know this is almost a year old, but we have the EXACT same issue and it's very hard to find anyone with this specific setup. Two colleagues have Teams installed locally and they are using Skype for Business via Citrix Workspace App on a customer's VMs.
Some devices, such as Chromebooks, have a Skype app in the Google Play Store. If this is the case for your device, download it from the Google Play Store and then skip forward to How to Create a Skype Account on your Laptop or Computer.

@darynsmith I created a script that gets all my Skype chat history to MySQL and now soon ready also checking from Hubspot if skype username exists in HubSpot and add chat history to HubSpot via engagements method.
Well, I'd prefer that there would be another interaction called SKYPE where we could see Skype chat but if not then probably add chat under EMAIL and calls under CALL or as I rarely meet with customers anyway then also thinking to add under MEETING or TASK that is completed already. Not sure, if maybe can suggest where's the best place to add the Skype chat history. And add all the chats that have timestamp difference less than 15 minutes maybe as a one interation

Email, DM, text or otherwise send your newly created Skype Meeting Call Link to your guest. They do NOT need a Skype ID to click through and join the meeting. The Online Number, a.k.a. SkypeIn, service allows Skype users to receive calls on their computers dialed by conventional phone subscribers to a local Skype phone number; local numbers are available for Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Denmark, the Dominican Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Ireland, Japan, Mexico, Nepal, New Zealand, Poland, Romania, South Africa, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and the United States.[53][54] A Skype user can have local numbers in any of these countries, with calls to the number charged at the same rate as calls to fixed lines in the country.
Skype does not provide the ability to call emergency numbers, such as 112 in Europe, 911 in North America, 999 in the UK or 100 in India and Nepal.[57] However, as of December 2012, there is limited support for emergency calls in the United Kingdom, Australia, Denmark, and Finland.[58] The U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has ruled that, for the purposes of section 255 of the Telecommunications Act, Skype is not an "interconnected VoIP provider".[59] As a result, the U.S. National Emergency Number Association recommends that all VoIP users have an analog line available as a backup.[60]
