With the release of Band-in-a-Box 2024 for Mac, we're adding new videos to our YouTube channel. We'll also post them here when they are published so that you can easily find all of our Band-in-a-Box 2024 for Mac videos in one place!

The most recent XPro and Xtra Styles PAKs for Band-in-a-Box 2023 or higher include additional Styles for Band-in-a-Box that work seamlessly with your project. We offer XPro Styles PAKs that work with ANY Band-in-a-Box package, and Xtra Styles PAKs for UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, and Audiophile users!

This new Band-in-a-Box VST DAW Plugin has over 20 new features including near instant playback direct from disk, to audition various styles without creating WAV files. You can now load chords from MIDI files. There's support for Shots/Rest/Holds on Utility tracks, and more! For Reaper DAW users, the Plugin has added built-in specific support for the Reaper DAW API allowing direct transfer of Band-in-a-Box files to/from Reaper tracks, including tiny lossless files of instructions which play audio instantly from disk.

Since AI is now readily available online as a resource for many things, we recently put together and shared a video where we demonstrated how to create a song using Band-in-a-Box, ChatGPT, and Synth V; we've also shared a Bob Doyle Media video, Convert MIDI Chords into AI Vocal Harmonies with ACE Studio and Band in A Box, showing how they utilize AI for their song projects. Now it's time to share Henry's video, Band-in-a-Box + ChatGPT = Impressed the BOSS!, where he demonstrates how to use ChatGPT and Band-in-a-Box to whip a song project together in only 3-4 hours.

If you've reviewed our Support page, you've probably noticed the Videos page, which separates our Band-in-a-Box tutorial videos by category: Overview, VST DAW Plugin, Setup, Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, and there's even an Archive category to go down memory lane... (You'll also find these videos on our YouTube Channel.)

It's always great to hear how other Band-in-a-Box users create their songs, especially when they explain in detail what they're doing. Like Henry Clarke's YouTube Channel, Henry Clarke - Senior Musicians Unite! There you'll find his ALL Band-in-a-Box Tutorials playlist with over 50 videos! His top-three most watched videos include "How to Get Started with Band-in-a-Box," "How I use the Audio Chord Wizard in Band-in-a-Box," and "How to Create An Effective Solo Using Band-in-a-Box" - however he touches on many other topics and also demonstrates his own Band-in-a-Box songs in the Band-in-a-Box Created Songs playlist!

I'm always looking for new music to listen to but recently i have come across an extremely annoying problem on my laptop just after buying spotify premium. I can listen to songs that are already in my playlists but if i ever search up a song or want to listen to something new it shows up as the image shown below, the album cover doesn't show up, the song wont play and if i add the song to a playlist it doesn't show up. The same problem also happens on web player but i have zero problems when using spotify on my phone. I have uninstalled it and but the problem comes back after a few minutes of using it. I hope someone can help me with this issue

3. Choose "All Files" instead of "Text Documents" next to the File Name box. You'll see a handful of files. Pick hosts and click on Open.
4. The file is opened. You will see a block of text with # in front of each line and might see entries like

No clue how this worked. My "hosts" file was full of sample text with # in front of each. No mention of Spotify or Fastly. I just deleted everything and suddenly I can play songs on Spotify. Really weird.

Should I unfreeze tracks in ableton before exporting a song? Just wondering if this will make any difference in the way it sounds. In the past I noticed when I exported songs with tracks frozen they didn't sound as good but it could have been some sort of placebo effect. I think I might have been playing around with the sample rate too so that could have been a problem.

Whether a track is frozen or unfrozen in Ableton shouldn't make a difference in terms of audio quality but might make a difference in terms of audio content. The reason for this is that you might have modulations in your track that are complex enough that each time you play the track, the result is slightly different. When you freeze a track, you capture a particular set of modulations. That set of modulations might sound better or worse than the last one you listened to.

I assume that when you freeze and flatten a track, the resulting audio is at the project rate. If your project rate is 96 KHz and your export rate is 192 KHz as in your previous question then you may notice a difference between the quality of the unfrozen track and the frozen track. I'm making an assumption here that the frozen/flattened track will be sampled at the project rate, rather than the export rate.

When I freeze a track, I usually start by duplicating the original track. Then I freeze the new track, and then flatten the new track. Finally, I mute the original track. This gives me the original material and modulations used to create the audio file, plus a static audio file that is both easy on the CPU and captures that particular set of modulations.

You can take this a step further and export two versions of your track - one with frozen tracks, and one without. Then create a new Ableton project, and drop the two tracks into two different Audio tracks. Turn on the crossfader, and enable one track for the A side of the crossfader and another for the B side. Slide the fader all the way to the A side, and launch both clips at the same time. As your tracks play, move the fader back and forth. Can you tell a difference? Is one better or worse?

Excavating but another point worth mentioning. If you decide to alternate the song tempo after the track was frozen, it would be better to unfreeze before export to let all the output be undegraded. otherwise, watch the pitchshifting methods as a minimum.

Hi, for the past year or so I have been having a similar issue to that described by Alex651. When using the Spotify app on a Google TV, nearly all the songs skip for a tenth of a second or so whenever the notification for the next song appears. The issue is random, but I'll say it occurs with 90/95% of the songs, with the native Google Tv Spotify app, when streaming from PC or Android to the integrated Chromecast and when using a Fire Tv Stick. I have a Duo account, and the issue occurs with both accounts.

Having this exact issue for a few months now, can't find a solution anywhere. I'm also using a duo account, and both Spotify accounts work on any other device they're connected too. I've done the log out/in, uninstall/reinstall and updated the TV software.

The pause happens when the pop-up for the next song appears, for 1 to 10 seconds each time. 1/10 songs it might not happen but it's usually pretty consistent. I've also tried bringing the song queue up to eliminate the 'next song' pop-up but the issue persists.

Hi, I have the same issue and have spent around a week with Spotify Support and they don't know what the issue is! I've done the memory clear, re install, disconnect power and broadband etc and nothing seems to resolve it! Spotify - you need to look at this and resolve it for your paying customer's!

Problem solved: the skipping was caused by the DNS resolver I used (DNS0.EU, managed by a French non-profit). I have no idea what exactly in that DNS service caused the skipping, but I switched to Cloudflare DNS (1.1.1.1) and now everything works perfectly. I tried also Google DNS (8.8.8.8), and it solved the problem as well.

Hi,
I make playlists with a lot of songs: 12 hours and more. What can i say, i just love music.
My problem is this: some songs are played more than others.
The plays are counted so is it possible to make this even before repeating?
I want to hear all songs from the list before some songs are repeated.

So the shuffle is so random that it repeats the same songs in 1 list and not completing the list before repeating. But still repeats the same songs.
That is a pity. I had hoped the random would work better than Tidal, Spotify, CD-Player.
Is there a way to get this solved with an update?
Please?

To my mind, truly random would not be a good implementation of shuffle. I mean, truly random might also repeat the first song a thousand times - with very low probability, but nothing else prevents this in a truly random implementation.

A simple option or question from the Roon systeem like: Do you want to continue the list with this Last Played Que?
Or a setting on shuffle: How do you want it to work - Completly random
- Play all songs in list before repeating songs

OK I know you're all gonna laugh at my inexperience but I can't find answer on videos etc. I have imported several samples from Splice into a new song which sounds good. When I export the mixdown and send to a mix guy to master them he says they are not good and need a lot of work. Some songs can't even be mastered. I put each tracks volume at -5.9. Wh

I have a pair of Magnepan MMG's and a Magnepan bass panel connected to a pair of Emotiva mono blocks and an Emotiva DAC.

I have the Blusound Node to stream music from Tidal.

The issue I am having is that before a song I select starts playing there is an extremely loud cracking noise, much like the crack of a whip. Sometimes it is more like a popping noise.

If I play an entire album, the noise only occurs before the very first song and not on subsequent songs.

However, if I play the "Related artists radio", the noise will occur before each song.

It is very distracting and annoying.

I have been told it is some kind of "handshake process" between the components.

Can anyone tell me what this noise is and is it possible to eliminate it?

Thanks!
