Time to take on new challenges.......

Dear colleagues,
After a few years of working for UNICEF Uganda, it is time to move on to other challenges. As you may have already heard since April, yet you have been continuously seeing me around, yes, finally, I will be joining UNICEF Sudan team this week, still in the continued personal pursuit of supporting humanity in need of assistance during emergencies.
Looking back to December 2006, when I joined UNICEF in Lira office, I can see now that a lot has changed for the better in Uganda. For example, there are no more IDP camps in Northern Uganda, UNICEF team has become much bigger both at zonal office and country office Kampala, UNICEF can now reach the entire country, etc. Moving from Lira office to Moroto zonal office this year 2010, has given me another tremendous experience and exposure to meet new set of challenges.
The experiences I have got from working with a wonderful UNICEF and through direct interaction and working closely with local government team, and non governmental partners over the years will help me to meet the challenges for providing basic services to vulnerable communities in deprivation of basic rights in other parts of the world. Thank you very much to all for the great opportunity of sharing, learning and supporting my personal and professional growth. I hope to see you around the world, which is becoming smaller and smaller every day. It's not yet time to say good-bye.
Finally, I would like to salute the team of UNICEF staff, government staff and other non government actors who dedicatedly, yet continuously face the difficult challenges of Karamoja region, but remain committed to bringing change and happiness on the faces of the people of Karamoja. To this highly spited team, I wish you all the best of luck in your blessed work, till we meet again.
