Hi, I posted about the awesome HTC wand trackers a month back.

They are now open-sourcing the tracking tech for other uses beyond VR... https://www.engadget.com/2016/08/04/htc-vive-open-source/

"Development kits include a pair of HTC Vive base stations; a "full complement of EVM circuit boards to enable rapid prototyping of your own tracked object" and 40 sensors for your tracked object that could be applied to a VR golf club or indoor drone, among other options."

It's 'free', but for the moment they want engineers to show up for a training course in Seattle. At $3k each, before the handing over the dev kits :)
