There isn't too much to know about the Belgian city of Kortrijk. It has a nice little shopping street, Saturday nights are about Grey Goose and dancing, and any time a local square gets renovated it's all anyone ever talks about for a month.

The shop's owner, Dimitri Christiaens, 36, has been organising these bi-annual meet-ups since 1999. What started out as just ten friends having a beer has grown into a sizeable get-together of passionate gabbers from all over Europe, who come to Kortrijk to share memories of the glory days.

As a teenager in Kortrijk, this annual procession of shaved heads freaked me out, but later my fear turned into fascination. What makes this tiny store so special that people from as far as Japan come to pay homage?

The front of DC's Special is hidden behind a pillar in the corner of the square. The crowd is a mix of men and women, most of them wearing shiny pairs of Nike Air Max, bright pink tops and suspenders. I see pit bulls of all shapes and sizes lurking around, while gabber parents pushing strollers excitedly greet their old rave buddies.

Off to the side, a few guys are doing gabber's iconic hakken dance in the sun, their tongues hanging out of their mouths. I hear people speaking French and Dutch, and occasionally someone will shout something in English, like "Once hardcore, always hardcore!"

While proudly stroking her 17-year-old son's hair, she tells me, "I almost cried this morning when I shaved the sides of his head for the first time. They grow up so fast." Her youngest is still a toddler, but Antilla shows me a video on her phone of him pumping his fist up and down to a beat. "You see, it's in their genes."

"Only die-hard gabbers who were there in the early days come here," a man who drove three hours from France to be here tells me. "Some only come once a year, while others are here every week. It doesn't matter if you're in a group or you're on your own. The beauty of our scene is that as long as you're a gabber, you're never really alone. We're one big family, for life."

Bjorn has partied at most of the major raves of the past 20 years, in Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands. At events, he and his wheelchair are often lifted up in the air, and DJs invite him on stage. Everyone in the scene knows him.

"The friendship, love and acceptance in this scene will get you through anything," he tells me, before describing how, at 19, he contracted a virus that left him in a wheelchair. "This is the only place where people didn't suddenly start to treat me differently. I remained a part of it."

Shop-owner Dimitri was 13 and camping in the Dutch province of Zeeland when he was first introduced to gabber music. After falling in love with it, he started attending as many raves as he could, before opening DC's Specials when he turned 18. Back then, his collection consisted of only a couple of racks with a few caps, shoes and tracksuits, but today it's a true celebration of gabber culture.

Almost all of the other gabber shops that were around when he first opened DC's Specials have shifted to an online-only model. Dimitri could make a lot more profit by doing the same, he explains, but the shop means too much to too many people, so he's working as hard as he can to keep its doors open.

I bought vice city on my iphone 5 and ipad 3.i played on ipad 3 some missions then saved to ipads local memory and one save to cloud memory. My icloud is turned on on both devices. But when i go to iphone i cant see a slot in icloud space. It writes no icloud saves. What to do. But in icloud when you can see what you have in your icloud account i found gta vice city saves but still i cant see it in the game. So i do something wrong ?thank you...

I was having the same problem, I tried checking the icloud settings to see if the documents were turned on, and they were, I could see my vice city save game in there even. So I rebooted both my iPad in my iPhone and that seemed to fixed it. My save game from my iPad is showing on my iPhone. I haven tried going back the other way yet.

3 - Open Vice City on the same device you just closed it on - now go to the options and delete any icloud saves you have on that device (the dustbin icon lets you do it). Now go back to the main home menu in vice city and click 'resume game'.

The agreement provides the City of Palm Springs with a total of 21 days annually to offer public programming at the discretion of the City Council. This programming would include the annual State of the City address, cultural and civic programs, and more.

During the pre-opening period of the theatre restoration, OVG will work with the Foundation to make recommendations about the design, develop and recommend a proposed inventory including items relating to food and beverage services, create a food and beverage budget and menu concepts, and hire and train staff.

The Foundation is continuing to raise funds to fully restore the Plaza Theatre, one of the most iconic venues in Palm Springs. The Foundation has already raised more than $15M but must raise at least $10M more to cover the construction costs and contingencies plus startup expenses. These needed funds will help restore the building to its original splendor and update it to meet the access, technology, and equity needs of today and tomorrow. There are many exciting naming opportunities still available, including a special theatre naming option for a single $10 million donor.

When restored, the Plaza Theatre will be a place for the entire community to come together and utilize it as an affordable community venue showcasing diverse programming for all people, local youth organizations, promoting multicultural programming in film, music, live theater, education, comedy, and entertainment for all. It will also support and serve nonprofit organizations such as the Palm Springs International Film Festival, ONE-PS, Modernism Week, and many others.

The Acrisure Arena is a $300+ million project that is being 100% privately funded through outstanding partners Oak View Group, Seattle Kraken, and Live Nation. Learn more at AcrisureArena.com and follow Acrisure Arena on Facebook, Instagram, X, and LinkedIn.

There are many ways in which the public may play a significant role in the Plaza Theatre restoration, including becoming a Founder, securing a Naming Opportunity for seats or other areas of the building, or making a general donation. All contributions are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. For more information or to make a donation please visit SaveThePlazaTheatrePS.org or contact Foundation President J.R. Roberts at 415-297-9309.

"The hundreds of cultural groups who received cuts this year are deeply grateful that the mayor has reversed a good portion of them," said Lucy Sexton, executive director, New Yorkers for Arts & Culture. "The continued investment in cultural centers, dance studios, small theater companies, musical groups of all types, art programs for youth and seniors, and so much more is critical to building a vibrant safe city and a thriving economy!"

Welcome to my site! I'm Alfred Potter and I'm a lead guitarist living in Wellington, New Zealand (originally from Wales). Despite having a musical father, I showed seemingly no interest in musical instruments. I eventually took up electric guitar at the (late!) age of 17 after playing a lot of "GTA: Vice City" as I got completely hooked on the 80s rock sound. I picked up an entry-level Jackson JS-1 and got to work. I took a liking to prominent 80s bands and guitarists such as Ratt, Autograph, Tony MacAlpine and Vinnie Moore and knew very early on that I had found my life-long pursuit.

At age 18 I went to university which was a mistake as I wasn't too interested in anything academic. But it turned out to be one of the most productive years of my guitar-playing life! I would go to uni with my friend Andrei and skip classes just to jam and drink cup after cup of coffee. It was this year, 2008, which I believe was responsible for my huge increase in skill ( as I was jamming everyday!). That same year I taught myself how to restore and put together electric guitars, and so, from 80s charvel parts, I built myself a Steve Lynch replica guitar.

My progress as a lead guitarist was steady from here on - I started teaching myself to sweep at age 19, and also had a good go at alternate picking at age 20. But it wasn't until a few years later at the beginning of 2012 that I really got serious. I began a youtube channel and started releasing 'lick videos' and jam tracks. A year later, for the first time, I got a practice diary and started keeping records of my goals, exercises, strengths, weaknesses and metronome progress across all areas of my technique. Keeping a running record of my progress and logged hours in such a way drastically improved my playing.

Diego Rivera's fountain of the Aztec rain god Tlaloc is a pumping station in Mexico City's municipal water system. It fell into disrepair for some time, but has recently been restored. David Hiser/National Geographic hide caption

The Mexican muralist Diego Rivera painted in New York City, San Francisco, Detroit, Europe and the Soviet Union. But some of Rivera's most famous murals and most unusual projects are found in Mexico City.

"It's a very special fountain. It's one of the most important sculptures that Diego Rivera did in his life," says Lilia Haua of Probosque Chapultepec, an organization that helped raise money to restore this work by Rivera.

The fountain is basically a shallow pool more than a hundred feet long and a hundred feet wide. Originally, it served as the ceremonial entry point for water from the Lerma River into the city's main reservoirs. The main flow of water has now been diverted into a pipe, but in Rivera's sculpture, the rain god, Tlaloc, still lies on his back in the pool.

The Carcamo is a giant tank inside a rotunda that is part of the same complex. Until the 1990s, municipal water flowed into the tank, and from here technicians could control the levels in several large reservoirs.
