Hello all,

Some LIPS 2025 attendees mentioned a desire for an astronomy crash course. Here's one that might be helpful for you from Phil Plait, also known as the Bad Astronomer.

There are about 45 segments, and each is 12 to 15 minutes-ish long.

Be sure to check out his books if you're not familiar with them already. Lots of fun and lots of great content.

Cheers,
Karrie

Here is a slightly better link for Phil Plait's crash course. It's the actual play list.

I first heard of Phil before he became known as the Bad Astronomer, but was known for his debunking of "bad astronomy" including pseudoscientific theories like "Planet X" cataclysm, the Moon landing "hoax", face on Mars, etc.  I found Phil's website http://www.badastronomy.com/bad/index.html but it's rather old and funky.
