Ihave hp pavilion dv6-6c65sx laptop. I installed windows 11 64bit but the fingerprint is not working, Can someone help me with driver? because I didn't find it on support page and I remember one of community members gave me the driver for windows 10 and worked that time,
I chose "Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer" and then 4.4.234.0 driver
Now when I go to windows Hello it says swipe your finger and when I swipe to my finger it doesn't work and the light indicator is not working either.
Is there a new driver for windows 11 64bit?
This package contains the HP SimplePass Identity Protection Software for the supported notebook models and operating systems. This software protects identity information and account access using the computer owner's fingerprint.
If you see no unknown device and no fingerprint sensor in the device manager, then W11 doesn't recognize that the device even exists, and if having the fingerprint sensor work is a must-have for you, then you will have to go back to W10.
I frequently have the fingerprint reader stop working. My workaround is to open the device manager as administrator, uninstall the device (without deleting the driver) and scan for hardware changes.
It seems to be a driver issue, that the driver crashes.
Is there a fix planned?
I have a laptop HP EliteBook 8560p, and I am running a clean install of Windows 10 Professional 64bit on it. I just want to ask if you are planning to roll out the drivers for Windows 10 because the CPU usage is too high probably due to not updating of drivers.
Synaptics Fingerprint Driver (For Windows 10 Upgrade)
To avoid Windows login with fingerprints failing due to compatibility issue after upgrade to Windows 10, please un-install " Fingerprint Driver" and "ASUS Fingerprint driver and utility". And, update "Synaptics Fingerprint driver" to 4.5.306.0 or above. Then, you can login Windows 10 with new feature "Windows Hello" by fingerprints
Provide the named sections referred to in the .HW section. The [Biometric_Device_AddReg] section sets values for the biometric device, including the exclusive flag and system wake/device idle. To be recognized by Windows Biometric Framework, UMDF-based WBDI drivers must set the "Exclusive" value to 1. The first two lines of the [Biometric_Device_AddReg] section specify access control list (ACL) rights so that the device can only be opened by an administrator or the local system account. When you specify these ACL rights, third-party applications can't open the device and capture fingerprint data when the WinBio service isn't running. For example:
A WBDI driver that exposes functionality to a legacy (non-WBDI) biometric stack should set the Exclusive value to zero. If this value is set to zero, the Windows Biometric Framework doesn't attempt to control the device, and the device isn't exposed through WBF.
The second named section contains registry values for the plug-in adapters. The sample uses the Microsoft-provided sensor adapter and storage adapter. This section also enables Windows log-in support by setting the SystemSensor value:
Finally, the third section sets the following registry values for the database service. The identifying GUID must be unique for each vendor database of a certain format. For instance, in this code example from the sample, change 6E9D4C5A-55B4-4c52-90B7-DDDC75CA4D50 to your own unique GUID in your INF file.
To differentiate WBDI and legacy drivers, vendors must set a Feature Score for the driver in the INX file. Feature Score isn't set in the WudfBioUsbSample sample. For more information about setting a Feature Score, see Ranking a Biometric Driver on Windows Update.
If you install legacy drivers on Windows 7 or later with Windows Biometric Framework, there is a chance that a future Windows Update could automatically replace the legacy driver with the WBF driver, which could cause your application to not work well. To avoid this possible problem, please be sure to update the SecuGen SDK dll, for example, sgfplib.dll (from FDx SDK Pro).

A few days ago I bought a new keyboard with the fingerprint recognition. I have attached the new keyboard to my Surface pro 3, the typing works, however, I am not able to set up the fingerprint recognition. When looking through the devices, the message "driver is unavailable" is visible under the device. I have everything updated and uninstalled & restarted (through devices and device manager) my computer several times.
Has anyone encountered the same problem or knows if I can download the driver separately on the internet?
Looking forward to your reply and thank you in advance,
Sara

I recently purchased an ASUS TUF Gaming Laptop (Model ASUS TUF F17 FX706HEB) and I am really happy with the purchase (more on that in another post). The only thing I miss is having a fingerprint reader for Windows Hello. This is why I purchased the Kensington VeriMark USB Fingerprint Key Reader from Amazon.
On Windows 11, at least for me, the VeriMark was not plug-and-play. You will need to go through some manual steps to get it working, but it DOES work on Windows 11. This has been tested and verified by me.
Yes, you can use the VeriMark with any application that supports fingerprint sign-in, as long as you set up your fingerprint in Windows 11 Account Settings first. This is because other apps e.g. LastPass, BitWarden, 1Password, etc. use Windows Hello to interface with the fingerprint reader.
If, for some reason, Kengsinton discontinues the links above. I have mirrored the v5.4.3511.1066 software on my server. The mirror is here. But please try the official Kensington VeriMark Driver link first to save my bandwidth. Thanks!
In some versions of Windows 11, you may also need to install Optional Windows Updates to get the Verimark fully working. These can be accessed in Windows Update -> Advanced Options -> Optional Updates.
I have found that none of the e6xxx latitudes are supported by dell for windows 10. I have had a myriad of issues with this line and windows 10. I have come to the conclusion that these will live on windows 7 until they die.
have you tried installing the driver in compatibility mode i havent tried it yet i have the same laptop with the same problem windows 10 lets me set up the finger print but i cannot log in using the reader it says finger print not recognized its a shame dell wont create a win 10 driver because these laptops are really good i have a ssd in mine
Important: Please ensure your Windows computer is up to date with Windows Updates, as new device drivers may be blocked if you are not current or awaiting a reboot to complete an install. See Windows Settings and Updates for status.
Note: Some domain-joined computers may limit the ability to use PINs or Biometrics as a domain security policy. Speak with your system administrator on opening those permissions to allow the use of the fingerprint reader.
For Windows 7 only: Install this after installing the WBF driver. The FMA is used to enroll and manage fingerprints within Windows Biometric Framework applications on Windows 7 only. (FMA is not needed for later versions of Windows because the enroll and manage functions are natively included in those versions of Windows.)
*In Windows 10, the Windows Biometric Framework (WBF) provides support for fingerprint biometric devices through a new set of components. Only use the WBF drivers if your software uses the WBF interface or you want to use the built in biometric logon in Windows 10. Please check with your software vendor for further information.
