Installing the image

Hello,

Thank you very much for the very well done project which allows to instantly have all those simulators in a single place.

I wanted to know how I can transfer (install) the image on a virtual box for example? Currently we have only the live DVD which is reset whenever you shutdown the Linux (all your files and customizations gone).

Hello! Glad you enjoyed the project! 

To install the system, you just click the install option in the boot screen. After this you will usually install the system with all the files and software that are available.

Thank you very much for your answer.

I have tried that "install" menu option several times, but selecting it does not run a installation script. The Linux will just boot normally and the Login screen will appear. After restart, the hard drive does not have a bootable partition so this error is shown: Fatal: no bootable medium found.

Hello, Sarmady.

Sorry for the delay in responding. 

I saw that really the option of installing the system is in trouble. I had never noticed because I use the livecd in virtualbox and when i will turn off the machine, i save the state of it using the virtualbox. Had never tried to install, thinking that would not have problems in doing this. 

This problem is due to remastersys program that generated the iso image and has not been able of enable the properly install of the linux. Unfortunately, i not found solution for this. 

I'm already preparing the new version of Liowsn Project. It will be an OVA/OVF/VHD/VMDK (virtual appliance). This will greatly ease the installation, with the functionality the import of the Virtual Machine (VM). 

To resolve your problem, I recommend only save the state of the machine on virtualbox (using the livecd iso) when you power off the operacional system.

I will soon launch the new version of the project.

I guess an OVA could be an excellent solution. It is easily importable and it is more compressed than VMDK. Furthermore It would be excellent if we could have it on Ubuntu 10 or above because ubuntu 9 is no more supported and no update/ software repository is available for it.
