Thatshould work with a second gen Scarlett, probably needs the ckk connection kit, maybe the Scarlett will also need a firmware update. Depending on how cheap the one you found is, you should consider other newer options. You are looking for a 2 channel interface? Or just an interface with a single mono in and stereo out for guitar?

So I called sweetwater and they had an irig2 and the sales guy said it would work well, so i went ahead and ordered one so what is your opinion on the irig2 interface??? good choice or too much of an impulse purchase?

What is your budget for an interface? Do you need just one input for your guitar, or do you need a 2-channel (2 input) interface? Are you able to return or re-sell the m-audio interface, and are you able to cancel the iRig? And what is your iPad model, lightning with headphone Jack or without?

The headphone versions are noisy and most amp sims warn you about that option and uncontrollable feedback. I was happy with the original iRig until i purchased the HD and realized a huge improvement in lower noise, better dynamics and audio quality. I love the fact that it functions from the iPad/iphone as the only required power source. The HD has a built-in phone jack that has a better sound too. The device headphone jack is turned off and all audio goes to the HD. Having an input volume control is good too.

I have a $60 budget and that is it, so at this point i just do not know what my options are, I have $60 to spent a guitar and just do not know where to turn and I just have guitar in my fingers and no way to play it

I prefer the Camera Connector Kit version that includes a Lightning Power port so the iPad

can have additional power to be the power source for the audio adapter and/or a USB Hub.

But many Hubs can also be the source of extra power for connected devices.

Great choice. The 3rd gen solo is an upgrade form the 2nd gen, sounds better, they also upgraded the monitor outs from rca to balanced which is a big deal, will be great once you purchase monitors. You also get a mic input with phantom power on there, not just a hi-z instrument input.

Thank you very much to you and all the others who have helped me. I have everything i need so once I receive it I will be good to go, next up is studio monitors....for now I only want to jam out and do some recording....do any of you guys use any apps for drums in recording? if so what apps do you use? what apps for drums would you recommend? I currently have rock drummer or is there better?

I would like to buy a iRig Keys 2 Pro keyboard. I just want to use it as a standard MIDI keyboard when playing in Ardour. I use Ardour on Ubuntu with a scarlett soundcard. Can someone confirm the iRig pro 2 works flowlessly for MIDI?

I found in another post (Ardour 4 - use 2 soundcards parallel) that there are some troubles to use the internal soundcard of the iRig. No big deal for me, again I am just looking for MIDI master as long as Ardour is concerned.

Boss stuff have a history of not being class compliant. I am not sure, but my guess is that what you hear is the direct monitoring of your incoming guitar sound only. If you click on AUDIO Device: IN/OUT, what does it read in the IINPUT and OUTPUT CHANNELS boxes?

When you connect to the amp it is a direct sound of the guitar, to get the internal sounds you need the headphone jack in the irig2. That you could send to the amp or speakers or just headphones. Be sure to adjust the mix level from dry to wet.
