CodeName: Tiranga [2022] is the story of agent Durga Singh who is assigned a mission to take down wanted [presumably] Kashmiri terrorist/separatist Khalid Omar [Sharad Kelkar] who is hiding in Turkey. Durga disguises herself as Ismat, then falls in love with Mirza Ali [Harrdy Sandhu] who seems close to Omar. Unfortunately, her cover is blown and now Durga is being hunted by Khalid and his men.

Usually, if a cover is blown, then most security agencies tend to disown such agents. Or so it is perceived. Nobody really knows what transpires in matters of national security, which are generally classified information. Our agent is not disowned but perhaps she is largely on her own in this Durga v/s Goliath battle. We say that because the 1.6-metre-tall Parineeti is squaring up against the formidable Sharad Kelkar.

Code Name: Tiranga though is entirely a work of fiction. While some patriotic films have worked, but these days you never know what the audience really wants. Tiranga promises good action. It has promising cast. Sharad Kelkar always has an intimidating presence in any film. It is not often that we see a trailer begin with a scene of the principal antagonist. This is testimony to the powerhouse of a talent that Kelkar is.

The trailer of Parineeti Chopra and Hardy Sandhu starrer Code Name: Tiranga was recently unveiled and it is yet another Bollywood film to ride on the success of patriotic genre. The trailer looks like a quintessential spy drama film but this time with a female lead played by Parineeti Chopra. The movie follows the basic and honestly a very overused plot of girl meets boys, falls in love but she is a government agent trying to track a deadly terrorist.

Patriotic movies have also been a safe spot for Bollywood and most of the time it is also a hit amongst audience. After the immense success of movies like URI, Shershaah, more and ore filmmakers are trying to jump on the wagon on patriotic films. Code Name: Tiranga is one these movies but looks like every other spy drama ever. It looks like a very mediocre mix of Raazi and Dhaakad but only time will tell if it fare well like Raazi or flop like Dhaakad. Watch the trailer here.

Mumbai, September 29 (IANS) Actress Parineeti Chopra has shared that she had to learn Israeli martial art form Krav Maga for three months to perfect her role as an elite agent in the film 'Code Name Tiranga'.

"It is a very physically and mentally demanding form of martial arts as its not only just movements but it also needs a lot of mental awareness of the surroundings one is in which is what exactly an agent needs to do on a mission."

She adds: "Most of my fight sequences were against men who were a lot taller than me like the stunt men and co-actor Sharad Kelkar and sometimes the fight sequences would require them to fight with their full body weight."

"And the next day the most amount of make up would be needed not on my face but rather to cover up my injuries. I'm extremely happy with the way people are liking my action shots in the trailer and it is a big thing for someone like me who has never done action as a genre before."

Given that we are both Punjabis we would speak in our mother tongue on set all the time and no points for guessing what the 2 things we connected most on are - music and food."

She said that it has been a treat to work with Harrdy.
