
Along with Do, his loving wife of 55 years, Jim is survived by their two daughters, Cathy D. Foster of South Bend and Janet M. Hagerman of Garrett, IN; five grandchildren, Brandon Bowen, Samantha (Jess) Fisher, Nikki Bowen, Bobbie Yeager, and Dallas Hann; and five great grandchildren, Colten, Silas, Payten, Sophia, and Isaiah. Jim is also survived by his two brothers, Thomas and Milton Foster, both of South Bend. Along with his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his four sisters and one brother, Darlene Banasiewicz, Sandra Charles, Rhonda Stratton, Wilma Wrobleski, and Glenn Foster.
Jim was an owner of real estate and owned and operated Affordable Homes for 50 years. He was formerly a manager and bookkeeper for Osco and Super X Drug Stores. Jim proudly served his country with the United States Air Force. He was a faithful member of the Lakeville United Methodist Church and Lakeville Lions Club. Jim was a 38-year member of Lakeville Lions Club serving as president twice and he seldom missed a meeting.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 6, 2026 at the Lakeville United Methodist Church, 610 N. Michigan Street, Lakeville. Military graveside services and burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 5th at the church. Friends may also visit with the family beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. Palmer Funeral Home-Lakeville Chapel is assisting the family.
