Hi,

I would like participants to interact with a virtual partner and I was wondering how to send messages to the participants via the chatbox in an automatized way? Also is it possible to have the chatbox on the side of the screen (instead of the middle)?

Hi Mélinda,

If these messages are fully automatic, I would use a JavaScript (JS) element rather than a ‘chat’ element. In the JS element you can use the standard JS functionality of dynamically displaying messages. I think that setTimeout() and/or setInterval() would be the functions you’re looking for.

I updated stage 2 of the experiment ‘computerized partner’ with an simple example. If you had already imported that experiment to your account you can just delete the previously-imported version from your account and import it again.
