Hello everyone,
I have been making my delicious kombucha for a couple years now and am looking into starting off selling it at a local farmer's market. I am trying to figure out what I need to do to start something like this. I believe I would need to start making my kombucha in a commercial kitchen, but I need a detailed list of exactly what equipment I need, etc. If anyone has any tips/advice that would be awesome!

I think you will need to decide how you want to sell it( fill bottles, growlers, from keg, pre bottled, etc.) how much are you brewing now and where? You will likely want some sort of business insurance, and to check with your local municipality to see what the rules are and if Kombucha could be considered alcohol in your market. How many different flavors do you plan to sell, and I'm assuming you are producing a consistent recipe. After that is all figured out then you might want to consider competition and pricing. Just a little food for thought, hope it helps.

Hi Cora,

To sell at a Farmer's Market you will need a Department of Agriculture food producers license.  That means you'll have to be producing in a certified facility.  It is a step up but if you plan to grow your business it is a necessary step.

Starting a business is expensive, I wish there was a cheap easy way to sell at farmers markets the Kombucha you make at home, but I don't think there is.
