Triathalon

The Triathalon, held this past Sunday was a tremendous success. For
those who were not able to be here, the event took place in Linwood
and surrounding Vermilion. Each element of the event started and
ended in Linwood. The Park was transformed into the race venue on
Saturday. There were 510 participants with the events going off in
"waves" starting at 8am on Sunday. The community organized 160
volunteers to assist the participants with all aspects of the event
from registration to guiding them through the course and assuring
their safety.

There were at least six representatives from the Linwood community who
participated. Grant Turner, Pete Peters Jr, Alton Fryer, Katherine
Fryer, Kevin Fryer (all children of Jean Sheadler, a new cottage
owner). A member of the Fayen family also participated.

There were over 800 people in the park with fencing for the bike
transition, tents, the finish line all set up in the Park. By Sunday
afternoon, all was cleanded up and it is hard to see any indication
that a major event took place here.
