I've installed this package and it works.  What I would like to do is whenever it starts, randomly choose a style / theme.  I'm very much not a shell scripting person.  It would be really cool to be able to make that happen.

I don't have anything running KDE so I can't test it out but, I can give this a shot as it looks pretty simple. One question: how are you starting this currently? Manually? Cron job? .bashrc?

Here's what I've came up with. Basically, you run this script instead of the dwall command. Save this in your home folder or somewhere in your path. Make sure to run "chmod +x random_dwall.sh" to make it executable.

Hopefully Gmail and Groups don't strip this .sh attachment. I wasn't able to post the code in the email body without the tabs getting screwed up.

I haven't set anything up yet.  I'm just starting it from the command line thus far.  I'm probably going to put the start line somewhere in my hidden files after I figure out how to randomize the set of backgrounds.

Thanks Jeremiah!  That appears to work.  I'm running Funtoo these days (Gentoo based).  I'm in the process of installing www-client/qutebrowser, which requires dev-qt/qtwebengine, which is a beast.  I started installing it on my Core 2 Duo with 4GB RAM last night and it's still compiling qtwebengine.  I'm also running AwesomeWM and have set it to autostart in rc.lua .  I'll keep you posted.
