I am trying right now to install a plugin (Save for Web) for GIMP
(2.2). I know already the installation procedure (./configure, make,
make install). I managed to install a few applications in this way.
When I am trying ./configure command for this plugin it gives me the
following error message:
----------### The beginning of the quotation ###----------
checking for GIMP... configure: error: Package requirements (gimp-2.0
>= 2.2.0 gimpui-2.0 >= 2.2.0) were not met:
No package 'gimp-2.0' found
No package 'gimpui-2.0' found
Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you
installed software in a non-standard prefix.
Alternatively, you may set the environment variables GIMP_CFLAGS
and GIMP_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config.
See the pkg-config man page for more details.
----------### The end of the quotation ###----------
I know for sure that I have GIMP 2.2 installed on my system and not
really sure about GIMPUI. What I do not understand is the PKG-CONFIG &
how to set PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variables. I read the man for
PKG-CONFIG - still I am at loss.
I would really appreciate your assistance if you can help me.
Yours sincerely,
Max
You need the development packages for gimp and gimpui. Download an
install the gimp-2.0-devel and gimpui-2.0-devel packages. If there are
more than one 2.x versions available, make sure to get at least the 2.2
versions.
