Have an Actiontec 2.5 mini-PCI card in an IBM ThinkPad R30 which won't
allow me to configure it for WPA even when following directions at
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiDocs/WPAHowTo

Intersil Corporation Prims 2.5 Wavelan chipset (rev 01)
Subsystem: Actiontec Electronics Inc Unknown device 0406

maybe you should try ndiswrapper https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiDocs/Driver/Ndiswrapper
some wireless cards don't work well in linux. (I used to have a card
like yours and could nevr get wpa working with it.)
you my want to look into buying a card that is better supported. (my
current card works with wpa with out changing any settings.)

Which mini-PCI card do you use? Don't want a PC Card sticking out of
a slot to get broken off....
