Has anybody been able to install ptxdist-2010.01.0 under Ubuntu 9.10
and then build a linuxstamp uimage+rootfs?

I was able to install ptxdist-2010.01.0, after installing a few
libraries, which ./configure complained about. apt-getting all missing
parts was very trivial.

Also, I needed to create the "projects" folder under the ~/
ptxdist-2010.01.0 folder, then the Linuxstamp folder, downloaded from:
http://linuxstamp.budgetdedicated.com/index.php?dir=&file=ptx_linuxstamp_pjt_20090124.tar.bz2.
Apparently, this folder needs to be created immediately after
expanding ptxdist and patches.

When I type "ptxdist projects", I see the Linuxstamp item. I can clone
it with "ptxdist clone Linuxstamp mylinuxstamp2010"

However, when I type "ptxdist go":

error: The config file 'selected_platformconfig'
is missing the symbol: 'PTXCONF_PLATFORMCONFIG_VERSION',
which means it is broken.

The configuration file mentioned above does not contain such symbol.
How should I populate it?

Hello Roberto,

I've been working with ptxdist 1.99 for a while and it works nice.

The ptxdist projects are different from version to version. Even the svn version can cause some versioning problems.

In the linuxstamp case of the ptxdist project, I believe that this version was done using the 1.99 version of the ptxdist (I worked with this project before, but long time ago).

In this case, in order to have the linuxstamp project running, you should have to convert the old ptxdist project to the new one.

This application note explains how to do that: http://www.ptxdist.org/software/ptxdist/appnotes/AppNote_migration.pdf

The document was created for the version 2 (which is version 1.99, and then the maintainer decided to that the versioning format for year releases, similar to Ubuntu, I guess), but I believe it might work fine with this newer version.

Regards,

Flavio
