Hey guys,
I have a few questions about the new UEFI on my new laptop.  I am having trouble getting Ubuntu to load up on start up.  Cant get the hang of this UEFI.
is any one willing to meet for coffee?

I could not attend the April meeting last weekend because I was at TED, but I usually am there.

I would be happy to meet you one-on-one in the Providence area if you need some advice or quick help.

I should be around for the next meeting too. We could troubleshoot it then if you cannot get assistance sooner.

Ubuntu has very good support for secure boot:

    https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SecurityTeam/SecureBoot

Another approach, especially if you want to dual-boot Linux and Windows, is to use a boot manager such as rEFInd:

    http://www.rodsbooks.com/refind/

The first diagnostic test, however, is to disable "secure boot" in the system configuration, because if you still cannot boot then you have some other problem that may not be specific to EFI:
