How to reset the graphical password on Aakash Tablet

Dear All
My Friend has set a graphical password for his Aakash Tablet but now he has forgot the pattern is their a way to reset it. Thanks in advance.

If it is rooted, or you have write access to its filesystem, the file containing the pattern key can be deleted, in which scenario Android accepts any pattern!

If not, I'm afraid factory reset is the only way.

NOTE: Recovery mode can be a mode of write-access to the filesystem.
