How are u excuting the VM ? U will need to pass the path  of ur classes using th -bootclasspath :

jamvm -verbose -cp /usr/local/java/example.zip -bootclasspath /mnt/jamvm/jamvm/classpath UrMainClassName

Could anyone help me.

@ Manav

Actually we got the problem it is with PDA only. PDA doesnt
support zip. so we copied libz.so from some othe toolchain. during
configuration it was showing incompabilities with some APIs and
configuration got stopped. I want to compile jamvm-4.2. Could you
suggest me which arm-linux tool chain should I use.

Am not sure what configuration you speaking about ... what configuration got stopped ?

I usually prefer building my own toolchain for i can add my own patches.
But this combination might be ideal for u if u using a 2.6 kernel
binutils - 2.16
gcc- 3.4.4
glibc -2.3.5
linux-threads-2.3.5
All patches applied.
