I have written a Linux module, that reserves irq and ioports of the
serial ports in the init_module function. When loading the module, the
kernel reports conflicts with the serial module (that also shows
/proc/ioports for example).

Question: How can I prevent the serial module to be loaded upon boot or
how can i free its irqs and ports later?

* In Linux 2.2 (Suse 7.0) the rmmod removes serial, then insmod suceeds.
How can I do it upon booting?
* In linux 2.4 (Suse 8.1) the rmmod reports, that serial is not loaded,
although it still reserves irqs and ioports.

Thank you for your ideas or even answers.

Wolfgang
