expert 53c875 card works... but daddy do not squeeze to hard!

i am having an PCI expert 53c875 with two internal connectors (68 pins and
50 pins) and one external connector (68 pins). People at the store said to
me this chipset was based on a NCR board.
Termination is fine, a guru checked it physically for me (( :-)

problem is if i my scsi hdd is getting too much "traffic", the kernel
panics and my system is "crashed" with a nice message
unable to dereference ........
eax= .....
ebx=.....
i must be doing something wrong. what?
btw in windows my kernel cpu % is 100% when i copy something.
i am using a Cyrix 266 mhz. does this mean my board is Pure Polled?
how do i figure this out?
