Please could someone help me with the installation of Linux Redhat 6.1 onto an
NCR dual pentium 66 with 128MB ?
All the devices in this machine are SCSI and managed by a NCR DUAL SCSI card
model 53C700. When I boot the machine with the floppy disks, first of all I
have to hold the Ctrl (control) key due to the fact that Linux asks for 608KB
of memory which are not present during the boot time.
Then when the boot is OK, in the next steps of installation I come to the
question : Do you have SCSI devices çon your machine ?
Which is yes in my case (as everything is SCSI in this machine).
Then Linux propose me to chose a SCSI controller in a given list which contains
the NCR 53c7XX. When I selected this one Linux propose an automatic probe or
manual probe which asks for some arguments before doing the probe.
I select the automatic probe but unfortunately Linux does not recognise the
SCSI controller which is a SCSI NCR 53c700, I'm sure about that I checked in
the configuration and during the boot of the machine there is a SCSI check
which gives this model of SCSI controller.
I would be too long but if anybody has an idea or suggestion, there are
welcome.
Many Thanks
