Hi Group and Gurus

- got one RH6 / Samba box running w/ lots of W95/98/NT boxes. All ok, very
fine.
- wants to hook up (can you believe this . :-) ) a regular DOS (remember
dos?) box to the SAMBA server. Can anyone direct me to a howto or similar.
So that the dos-box may access the shared resources on the LNX server. In
the bad old days using Novell, one would do something like:

lsl.com
NE2000.com
ipxodi.com
netx.exe

and- you would be able to log onto your NW box. Something similar with
TCP/IP and LINUX??

Thx in advance!

Best regards,
Verner Kjaersgaard

Hi Verner,

I didn't have this problem till now, but you can give your dos-box
TCP/IP with

- LAN-Workplace (Novell)
- PCTCP (Sun)
- TUN (Esker)
- XFS (free, but don't aks me where to get).

Your best bet is the Microsoft client
ftp site = ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/bussys/Clients/MSCLIENT
or if you have an NT server CD-ROM
drive_letter:\clients\msclient\disks
IBM also has an OS2 client for DOS that works with SAMBA (SMB is their
idea)
Hope this helps
