Im trying to install Tripwire on my RedHat 9 box at home. The Tripwire
version is tripwire-2.3-47.bin.tar.gz, after running install.sh - which went
just fine, I wanted to run the command tripwire --init, this then proceedes
to ask for my password, continues to work, but after a few seconds crash
with the following message:
[root@Host tripwire-2.3]# /usr/sbin/tripwire --init

I have been checking a bit trough google and it seemes like there are lots
of ideas about the problem out there, nothing that have fixed it for me yet
though. Among the suggestions is that you will HAVE to use gccc 2.96, but
this isnt even available from http://gcc.gnu.org/gcc-2.96.html ??!?
Any workarounds for this problems? Any tip on OTHER types on intrusion
detection software for the linux platform?
Best regards
Kaare
