Hi, I've hit a problem upgrading my Linux sparc installation using the
Aurora packages. As part of the upgrade, I have installed the XWindows 4.0
packages. When I try to run Xwindows, I get errors because the 4.0 packages
don't recognize the3.x XFree86Config configuration file. Specifically it
complains about LeftAlt and Meta, but the basic problem seems to be that the
syntax is sufficiently different to make the 3.x file unusable.

I thought that I could run xf86config or edit the XFree86Config file
manually, but I don't seem to be able to enter the right parameters. I think
the biggest problem is that the the 4.0 system needs to load modules (mga or
vga) which I don't have on my system. I've tried to recompile the kernel
with make config, etc. but couldn't see any opportunity to specify modules
for vga or mga (though I might have missed them - working through config
options gets a bit tedious). Finally menuconfig just wouldn't work - it
wouldn't get past parsing a configuration file.

My system is a Sparc20 workstation with a failry generic
monitor/keyboard/mouse. If anyone can help me out here, that would be great.

Thanks, in advance, Martin
