I recently get a Sun on which i installed Suse 7.0 for Sparc machines.
It runs well and sound and network cards has been recognized.
I would like now with the help of samba share files between my Win32
machines.
Physicly i connect the two machines with cross net cable. A connection is
made with 100mb/s.
The Win32 Network card i assigned a ip (169.254.252.8 mask 255.255.255.0)
The Sun eth1 gets ip (169.254.252.1 mask 255.255.255.0) assigned by me.

i start the ethereal on the kde2 to watch what happens.

When i send a ping from the win32 machine i got the unsuccsecfull message.
It is captured on the ethereal as echo (ping \) request from 169.254.252.8
destination linux.local

When i send a ping from the sun machine i got the unsuccsecfull message.
on the ethereal it is captured who has 169.254.252.8? Tell 169.254.252.1
and then Destination unreachable.

What is my problem, do i need a hub ?
