I then attempted to sync and move over passwords and user/groups
using: getent passwrd and getent group. I can see all users/groups
and passwords actually being processed.
My problem seems two fold:
1. I do not see the users/groups in my /etc/group file or users in my
/etc/passwrd file.
2. A user cannot login to the machine using domain+user syntax. They
are not recognized.
But wait, I can see all user's and groups when trying to change
permissions on existing files on the Linux box.
I have edited a couple of files in the /etc/pam.d folder that I assume
to be the authenication files. The problem I am having is that the
How-To states /etc/pam.d/* needs to be edited. Which * files need
editing? I again edited all I seem to be used for Winbind, such as
the authenication files and samba files.
Can someone point me in the right direction on how to see the user
groups to ensure that the local machine knows that the Domain users
can use the machine and have the user's login.
Other than I dont' see my users/groups locally and they can't login
all seems to be working fine. I know this sounds alittle strange
since my objective is to get them to login locally. Im just happy I
to it to work this far.
