shutdown scripts not executed (RH 7.2)

Hi,

I have installed RH 7.2 on my machine and have the following problem:

I need a server to be started in runlevel 3 and shutdown this server
when my machine is shutdown.

I wrote a small script, copied it to /etc/init.d created 2 symlinks
S98test and K02test.

The script is started when the machine boots but the script is not
executed when the machine is shutdown.

After a few tests I found out that even the preinstalled scripts are
not executed on shutdown!!

Any idea?
