5.0:Install stopped/froze at gpm rpm

I'm trying to install 5.0 on my 486-dx-66.

Regardless of the number of packages I want to install, the installation
freezes after the gpm rpm is installed. I've left it for 10 minutes and nothng
happens.

Anyone else heard of this problem?
