mouse scroll wheel in desktop pager

Hi,
I have been using Redhat 9.0 for a while now and had to shift to a
machine with Redhat 7.3. Under RH 9.0 placing the mouse over the
desktop pager and rotating the mouse wheel scrolls through all the
desktops. However with RH 7.3, this doesn't happen. Is it a feature
that I need to turn on somehow or is the feature just not available
with RH 7.3? The wheel works with all other applications.
