getty newbie

Hi,

I've been trying to make getty ini inittab to work but so far no
success. I wonder if someone can give me some tips. Here's the
scenario:

* Have two boxes - a) RedHat 7.1 b) Embedded linux with BusyBox
* In b) a line in inittab was added to run getty at boot up:
> ::respawn:/sbin/getty -L ttyS0 9600 vt100
* Connected a laptop to serial port1 using a null modem cable, ran
hyperterminal (win95)
and was able to login to the box
* In a) a similar line was added:
> s0:2345:respawn:/sbin/getty ttyS0 9600 DT9600
* Unable to get any response when tried to connect via the laptop using
cable

Any ideas? Appreciate the help...

Did you try setting 'flow control' to "none"?
