Problem with KDE3

Hi all

I have installed KD3 on Redhat 7.2. It works fine most of time. But when
i start any java application which use java VM or just type java at the
konsole, for no apparent reason "kdeinit: kicker" starts consuming lot
of cpu power (starts some sort of race condition), basically slows
down the system very badly.

Has anybody had such problem? Can somebody suggest an solution?

If it was version 1.3.2 or earlier, upgrade to 1.4.0 (Sun has actually
improved performance of the JRE compared to the earlier versions).

Also, check to see if you have the JRE in your PATH (I had all sort of
problems until I put the JRE in my PATH; foremost among them, LimeWire
wouldn't install).
