Just want to know if it sencefull to use RedHat 7.2 with a 2.2.20 Linux
Kernel?
If so, does the following works:
Kernel 2.2.20
ext3 journaling fs
pppoe
If it is unsencfull, please give me reasons why to use a 2.4 kernel.
Thank you for your tips in avance!
David
So you think it's better to compile the newest kernel on the machine with
ext3?

I'm running a RedHat 7.1 server with 2.2.19 kernel.

2.2.19 works, the changes in 2.2.20 shouldn't breat anything, but I
haven't tried it myself yet.

You have to patch the 2.2 series for ext2 support. There is an ext3
patch for 2.2.19 and as I have heard it should work with 2.2.20, too.
But you may need to patch some rejects manually as some of the offsets
could have changed.

This I have to leave to someone else to answer. I just know that it
works with 2.4.

Hm, bigger kernel sources? ;-)
