RedHat 7.1 Network configuration

I am new to this newsgroup, if the same message I am posting it again
please do forgive me.
I installed redhat 7.1 (ftp installation). I have a linux server
installed Redhat 7.1 now earlier it was 6.2), the other two m/cs are
one laptop running NT4.0 (192.168.1.2) and other running
Mandrake/Win2K(192.168.1.3) in dual boot mode. The server box has two
ethernet card.
eth0 - > DHCP connection with the Cable company
eth1 - > 192.168.1.1 coneected thru the HUB to my local lan.
I used ipchains for the two clients and they were quite ok going and
fetching the internet content. I was forwarding ftp module too to
connect via ftp over the net. I removed root from /etc/ftpusers and
/etc/securetty, so that root account can be accessed from anywhere
over the net.
It was working fine before the 7.1 install, after installing 7.1
(although the installation goes very smooth). First thing i noted
wu_ftpd and telnet service was not running, I started that one, copied
back all the configuration file like rc.local where I have all the
ipchains rule defined and smb.conf. I removed root from ftpaccess and
securetty. But the problem is
1. I cannot ftp from my local client to the 7.1 box. Though from the
command prompt of the server I can connect the same box thru ftp.
2. Same thing goes with telnet also. I cannot connect to my server box
from the two clients resided locally.
3. I can ping (though I know it uses UDP not TCP) all the raw IP of
the internet but it cannot go to the internet site after resolving the
name. All the nameserver address I can ping but with the raw IP not
with the name. Although the server can resolve the name and it uses
the same DNS IPs which has been used by the client nodes.
This is my home network i.e. hy I am not too much concerned about the
hacker attack, rather I want to get the easy accessibility.
