Anybody using the Tascam US428 with linux?

Hi,
I've installed ALSA 0.9.8 on my laptop running RehHat 8.0. ALSA 0.9.8
includes drivers for the Tascam US428 Digital Audio Workstation. I'm
trying to get the US428 working on Linux so I can record and mix digital
audio on Linux. The Tascam needs to have the drivers downloaded to it
before it is usable. I've been trying to follow the (limited)
documentation on the Internet. I've done the following:

Installed ALSA 0.9.8 (compiled with --with-cards=ali5451,us428).
Installed hotplug-2002_04_01-13 from sourceforge.net.
Installed tascam_firmware-0.1 from sourceforge.net
Installed Tascam firmware bin files in /usr/share/usb/tascam

All I need to do is get it to work...

Here's the output of /var/log/messages when I plug in the Tascam:

I've tried running /etc/hotplug/usb/tascam_fw by hand using the device
addresses from /var/adm/messages below, but I'm not having much luck
with the syntax:

root@laptop# tail -1 /var/log/messages

Basically, I get this messsage no matter how I call the script.

Any ideas? Does anyone have it working? It looks like I'm fairly close.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
