We are writing a program that communicates via the serial port with a
PLC S7 (siemens)
The PLC sends constantly about every 70 millis a packet of 124 bytes. We
wrote a program that
reads in those bytes and processes it. But sometimes it seems loosing
some bytes. The serial speed is 38400 baud.
Is a pentium III 500 + Linux capable of doing such task ?? Wat can be
done to cure the problem of losing bytes ??
Can the serial input buffers of Linux made larger ?
thanks for reply
